G'Day Snowlovers. Kibs here.
Today I thought i'd shout out some of my outerwear and equipment secrets to all you budding shred dogs, as well as few technique tips that'll have you turning that green run into an extreme run. Alright let's get tipping:
Firstly, be sure to get some solid protective eyewear - this will ensure you look great on the slopes as well as keeping your vision tight when you hit mac 3 on the corduroy. These wide angle cricket glasses are perfect - $6.50 at your local chemist.
A one piece is both functional and stylish, and fluro highlights keep you seen during avalanches.
Technique wise, make sure you look a little scared on the hill - then when people see you carving those S turns down the blues, they'll know you conquered your inner anti-shredder.
If one peices arn't your thing, check out Spyder. They have a great range of functional outerwear. When you're skiing deep powder like in this shot, be sure to keep your weight on your outer ski, keep your arms are outstretched for balance and make sure your downward matches your downward leg. Your up hill side should remain relaxed for style. Remember to angle your torso to compensate for speed.
If sunglasses are too flimsy for your speed, try these UVEX goggles. They go great with Salomon Crossmax skis and ex-rental boots, and match nicely with another one of my favourite brands, Mambo. This is my red one, but I have another few hand-me-down colours from my pesky older brothers. Also, Make sure your pole plant technique is up to scratch before trying to conquer dangerous terrain like that pictured above.
I hope you've learned something today Snowlovers. Remember that good equipment and solid technique are the cornerstones to a great day on the hill. - Kibs.
